I haven’t blogged in such a long time. Although I am busy, it’s not the main reason I haven’t published here.
I just didn’t have the energy to do so.
Writing is hard work. Learning how to improve your writing is hard work as well. But fighting for space and representation in the publishing industry is the hardest.
After listening to conferences and reading articles and papers on the lack of diversity in the publishing industry in Australia and worldwide, I just felt a bit blah. I still do.
As an individual, all I can do is continue to do what I’ve been doing in the hope that my work will contribute somehow to the diverse voices already out there.
So this year, this blog will be quiet again. Even more so than last year. I don’t have much to say. It tires me out. But I’ll keep doing.
The doing part I can do.
